Malaysia Goes Hi-Tech with Crime Mapping

South Africa and a handful of South American Countries have already announced crime mapping for their citizens, services that are meant to mirror crime mapping in the UK and much of the US. Malaysia is now joining the ranks of countries who are mapping crime for the public.

The website, MalaysiaCrime.com currently maps crime based on media reports throughout the country, but they hope to soon get official government crime data to make their site even more powerful and helpful to citizens.

Right now, many of the crimes plotted on the map actually link to news stories about the crime, which can be a great help to citizens who want to know more about crime in their area and how they should protect themselves.

Check out the site for yourself and play around with it at MayaysiaCrime.com.
